Awesome shot....was it windy or was he fluffing his feathers?

So glad you all enjoyed this photo, taken by Jerry at the St. Augustine Alligator Farm - the birds nest and raise their young in the trees around the farm because the alligators keep away all other predators (and alligators can't climb trees!).

Carol, this one is showing off for a potential mate - they spread out their features and show those plumes to say, "Look at how handsome I am, girls! Pick me!!"

Amazing! Those feathers are so decorative--my grandmother would have had them on a hat (which, admittedly, I would love too, they look better on the bird).
Love your blue banner!

Thank you for your input about word verifications. Was mine turned off? I haven't experienced any spam.

This is a lovely photo! How delicate and spiritually beautiful!

Thanks, Caroline, Laura and Susan. I'll let Sweetie know you like this one :)

Susan, your word verification was on when I commented - and I was doing it from Sweetie's IPad = tiny letters! ha ha There are just too many meanies out there to leave it off and assume everyone will play nice (as evidenced when I turned mine off for just 1 day - most of my spam was people commenting on really old posts and it was all selling stuff with links to sites but others said they started getting porn sites!!)
