CAW GIRL IS FINISHED BUT NOTHING NEW BEGUN

I'm calling her finished.

The grandgirls are on spring break this week so we're spending the day with them, just having fun (there will be some painting involved, too).

Then this afternoon, I take my painting to the WACC for judging into their juried show (I hope).  (Not this one but another I've had matted and framed.)

Tomorrow, my two beginner students come over for 2 hours of instruction.  I've got their lesson plan all ready for them :)

Sounds like you have a great week planned, Rhonda. I love the completed Caw Girl.

I knew you could finish this one off well. Now, to get it framed and ready for the next show. It is just unique enough, as well as well-done, to be chosen by judges for a show!

This is fabulous ! from concept, composition and i really really like the way you've handled the background-as well as the spacial relationships between 'caw' and 'girl'. I like the strength in the shadow as well-seems to pull the whole painting together--hope you continue in this series-btw what size is it?

Thanks so much, Carol and Jane :)

Helena, thanks for stopping by and for taking the time to comment on this one :)

Sherry, Susan, Tim, Jan, and Christiane: Thanks for all the positive comments! Christiane, I am not catching a cold - the oldest grandgirl had a horrible cold on the day we were together and I was almost phobic about her being near me by the end of the day!! Too late, though :( I'll hear about the show on Thursday!

Enjoy your day with your grandchildren, I am sure it should include drawing and painting and lots of fun.
Good luck for the show, it is an interesting picture, one to see close up and catch more of the colours and details. I always wonder what makes people paint what they paint, my reason seems so simple.
Thank you for your lovely comment, made my day, calling it a treasure chest . Millyx

The caw girl is great. You have grandchildren????? You look to young.

BTW, every time I visit your blog I am singing "Help me Rhonda" in my head. Drowns out the voices.

Thanks, Milly (my sister is named Millie with an "ie" - she named herself Millie Jane when she was young; didn't like her real name!).

Carol, yes, 3 grands age 11, 9 and 3! I'm much older than I look! ha ha ha ha

Thanks, Pam and Irina. I hope the Primarily Crows painting gets in - will hear tomorrow so keep your fingers crossed!
