REMOVING WORD VERIFICATION UNTIL BLOGGER REGAINS THEIR SANITY

I removed the word verification hurdles my posters have to jump through to post on my blog.  It's under your settings and comments - it asks if you want word verification so choose NO.  You can still have moderation on so no spam will get through.

I know it's a hassle to do the word verification now.  Two words instead of one and they are crunched together, overlapping and often blurred so much you can't tell if it's a lowercase l or a capital I or maybe an R or what the heck is that???  Just to prove I'm not a robot!

Let me know if you still have to do it to post to my blog.  I just changed it tonight.

I am not a robot....LOL. I had to deal with that nonsense too when it asked me to try some new words "just to prove you are not a robot" it said. Let's see what happens when I hit "publish."

There was no word verification.

Much better. Now I will remove mine so long as I don't get spam.

I hated typing those words even before this new method of CAPTCHA words. I was getting ridiculously long words! So? I removed them from my blog long ago. I have heard others say they instantly got bombarded with spam when they removed those security words. I never got a one. Since I hate typing them so much, I decided I wouldn't put anyone through it on my own blog. And I do have comment moderation enabled so I can catch the spam if the spam filter does not.

And I can type like the wind, so it isn't even that. It is the difficulty of stretching fingers all over the place to accommodate goofy captcha words. So? I thank you, Rhonda. And I thought you were way too young to be a grandmother! We had our granddaughters over Saturday night and took all of the kids and grandkids bowling yesterday.

Rhonda...I am going right to my blog after this and will do the same. This is a ridiculous way of conducting a blog...there is no need for making honest people work so hard to comment!

Well, now, this is interesting - the posting a comments page looks totally different for me (is Blogger punishing me for suggesting they are insane??).
I'm glad you agree about the extra problems with the new word verification - go to your settings and take it off your blog but leave on moderation so you know who is trying to post to your blog - that way, spam won't get through (I hope). I'll let you know how it goes.

Sherry, I got all the joy of being grandma without the work of being mother soon after marrying Sweetie and taking on his daughters! I have 3 little grands (2 girls and 1 boy). It was a great day and I wish we had more time to spend just the 3 of us girls together having fun :)
