It was a gorgeous tree, ablaze with that red color, last fall in southern Illinois, Crystal.

Cynthia, I don't paint trees often - I seem to have a mental block about how to render them without overdoing it - but I could give it a try...but there's no crow in it! ha ha

Here's the word Rhonda, it is
MERCURICHROME. Do you remember that from childhood when you scraped a knee one of your parents applied this colorful mercurichrome as antiseptic. Another name for it is Merthiolate. That's what these leaves look like to me. I hated the sting of it but love these leaves.

Like sunsets, autumn trees are really best left up to God.

Hi Rhonda,
Perfect!

Glad you all enjoyed this one. It was taken during a walk through the Cedarhurst grounds when I went to see Carol Carter's show - a lovely time of year and a great showing of her swimmers (if you haven't seen these in person, you should - bit, bold, beautiful figures).

Carol, my grandmother put something even worse on us = gentian violet. It was deep purple and dried like Japanese Beetle wings - irridescent and green and gold and purple - we didn't tell her about boo-boos too often! ha ha

ZenDotStudio, thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment. I so admire reading your blog and get so much out of it :)

Carol and Deb, what better time than autumn to enjoy the glory around us - so much beauty an artist could never capture it all!
