FYI - I DON'T CARE HOW YOU USE IT

http://www.wildmind.org/blogs/on-practice/how-to-see-people-not-our-reactions-to-them

There are so many ways to judge/discriminate for and against people
that I'm going to make it simple for myself and judge you based on one thing
and one thing only:

Your shoes.

Your shoes! Thanks for that big smile on my face this morning. (And and thanks for the link too)

I don't know if I like this exercise, but I did like the article "How to See People, not Just Our reactions to them" by Rick Hanson PhD. As for my shoes....sensible! Not a pair of red high heels in the bunch.

Carol and Carol, I had hoped it would make someone smile - or laugh out loud today.
I love seeing the shoes other women wear but I don't love wearing them.

You wouldn't envy me with the oxford-type shoes I have to wear with my braces! I look at all the ladies with tiny feet slipped into sexy little numbers and just sigh, but then I remember how painful that was when I wore those great styles and it is okay again.

I do hope I am not judged by the shoes I wear; I choose to think I am much more of a glamor-puss than my klutzy shoes! LOL

Cindi, my shoes come off as soon as I get home - hate shoes on my feet although I like seeing pretty shoes on other people :)

Susan, I know some people have to wear shoes for their health - we won't count that against you!!

So I looked down to see I was wearing an old pair of flat brown sandals as it smacks of being another lovely sunny day once the misty bits have evaporated and I don't plan to go anywhere else than my garden. So tell me, how do you judge that?? Maybe 'she likes her comforts'!

Ah, Joan, I'd say, She's comfortable in her own home, not trying to impress any unannounced callers, but also wants to be cool in the last days of summer :)

Crimson, it does make things easier - just look at the shoes - it works as one way to do it, of course, and pretty quickly done :) I enjoyed your blog about historical art and your challenges :)
