IN THE WORKS: MERMAID'S PLUNDER

Painted on half sheet Arches 140# cold press

Daniel Smith pigments

I'm calling this one

Mermaid's Plunder

as I think he's stolen something she will want returned!

I like it already.

RH, what a great contrast: dark bird like an ink stain on a watercolor background. Lots of dynamics.
Thanks,
Irina

Like the look of this - but will we see any part of the mermaid by the time its finished???????? Maybe after my trio of dragons I should think about mermaids as a subject??

What a fabulous piece, Rhonda! Gorgeous palette and the title is spectacular and really helps to develop a story around this painting. I love it!!

Thanks, Jan, I do like drizzles and drips :)

Thanks, Hallie!

Irina, thanks for pointing out what makes this one work so far.

Maggie, you are welcome for any info I can share - whether you use it or not right now.

Joan, I thought about including something of the mermaid but maybe in another one?

Katherine, these come from glimpsing something and thinking - what if? - and then going with that. So I guess these crow paintings are more creative and from my mind. Glad you like them!

Thanks, Bohemian, for stopping by and taking the time to comment - I'll have to see if you have a blog I can check out :)
