LOCAL SHOWS COMING UP THIS FALL

I got 2 entries ready and mailed for the Cincinnati Art Club's Viewpoint Show (both crow paintings).  I won't know until October whether one got in or not.  I got in for 2009 but not 2010 so it's anyone's guess.

There is still time to enter, if you're interested!

I also have 2 entries chosen for the Greater Cincinnati Watercolor Society show at Evergreen Retirement Center.  That is open to all watercolor society members that runs from September 25 - October 30.  I have chosen 2 smaller paintings (just less than 1/4 sheet size for both) for this show because I think only small paintings will sell.

Pink Peony and

Hot Pink Flamingo

I just need to get them matted and framed by September 22.

And, since I joined the Woman's Art Club of Cincinnati, I can be in their member show at The Barn in October.  So I have to have to choose 2 more paintings for that.

I think these things always come up hot and heavy in the fall and in the spring.  It can take a lot of time and effort and $ to be in a lot of shows at the same time.  I normally don't do it, but I have the paintings so I thought I'd get them out there to be seen.

Excellent choices and beautiful paintings for these two shows, Rhonda. I need the deadline of shows to stop procrastinating about painting:-)

Very nice, and good luck Rhonda.

Thanks, Christiane. I do okay with deadlines but usually don't paint specifically for a show - I either have something good or I don't when one comes up.

Thanks, Irina :)

Thanks Carol. Every member gets in but there are 3 prizes and 3 honorable mentions - I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Good luck with the upcoming shows, Rhonda. Love the painting of the flamingo! I have a couple of shows coming up too. It's tough to decide which paintings to submit.

Love to see you getting in more and more shows Rhon, hope your migraines are not bothering you so much to have all that work done

Thanks, Michelle, Autumn, and SKIZO (I like your new blog!) for the comments on this post. The flamingo was done in 2010 and the peony before that - I don't keep track of dates on my work most of the time! The peony has always been one of my favorites, though - on hot press paper and I like the way the sap green worked out.

Teresa, these aren't new but I may have to get off my behind and get them matted and framed if I'm going to enter them in the member show.

Lovely paintings Rhonda, you must always have a stock ready to go for shows, you're so prolific! Love your magnolia bud in the previous post too.

Hi Rhonda, congratulations on your entries. Your painting of the peony and the magnolia are just lovely.

They are beautiful paintings and i'm sure they will sell. I love the flamigo. Sell it to someone who lives in Florida. :) Good luck!

Thanks, Pam and Cathy (yes, I do often have some to choose from when a show comes up - I wouldn't be able to paint for a specific show as I don't do pressure! ha ha)

Thanks, Carol and Cathy! Carol, hope someone falls in love with both of these - mama needs some new shoes! Cathy, it's a members show so not juried in, just choose two and go for it!

Wonderful to have time to choose two works for so many events all at once. The colours in the flamingo painting are stunning and will certainy catch the eye. All beautiful works. - good luck. I agree at present small works are the best to offer the paying public.
