GREEN MADONNA - FINISHED

I haven't had much time to paint, other than the time spent painting and coloring with granddaughter Alaina on Sunday evening...but this one is done.

I have started my days with sitting in the sunroom early in the morning by myself while it's still quiet, sketching what's outside - getting myself in gear for some real landscape painting.  Other than that, playing grandma with the girls Sunday-Monday and will pick up the boy this evening for an overnight and time together tomorrow.  He's 3 so he'll be a full time event :)

I may be recuperated from the grands coming and going by Thursday! ha ha  (Then I can catch up with my favorite bloggers, too.)

What a lovely cool delicate blue-green figure and world you have given us, Rhonda. A Madonna in Eden. The we observe those glowing areola and a note of feminine sensuality is introduced.

By the time it has dawned on us that there is had print over the right breast, the pristine innocence has fleed and we find ourselves in a far more ambiguous and layered place - and it's not Eden.

Love it!

Harry, by jove, I think you've got it! Everything I was thinking, doing, planning and what came from working on this painting, you described perfectly. I think you are the only one to see the handprint - the hand of mankind on nature, perhaps; or the hand of man on woman with or without her permission? I hope this is a multi-layered painting, making one think a bit about what it means. A humble attempt compared to the powerful work you are creating these days, my friend!

Very intriguing and full of possible interpretations.

Grandma! I hope you're having the time of your life with the kids. Here... a sea of black kittens at my studio door. No birdies this year! Looking forward to your return.

Thanks, Jane :)

Suzanne! Grandma's recuperating (not sure why I get so tired but I think it's the constant noise! ha ha) today and doing some well-earned shopping for some summer clothes. And I have to mail out my SWAP painting.

Hi Rhonda,
I was just about ready to point out the hand print, as well as, admit to having no clue as to what it meant, when I read Harry's comment.
He is so great at weaving a story from what's in front of him. I guess I should have tried harder.
At any rate, I'm happy to learn the secrets of this work.
Your portrait will be sent this coming Tuesday!!!!!!!!!!! I know you probably don't believe me, but I swear it's true.
Have a great day.
Sincerely,
Gary.
