GREEN MADONNA, STEP ONE

Step one of a painting I'm working on.

I'll let you decide what the imagery means.  I know what it means to me.

Green Madonna
22" x 22.5"
Arches 140# cold press paper

For all those in the U.S., have a great Memorial Day weekend.  If you're travelling, be safe!

How wonderful that you let your viewers decide their own meaning for the painting. Its going to be wonderful, I can see it already!

Thanks, Jane! I'll try to get back to it today with another in the planning stages (which means I'm thinking about it, have photo references but have been too lazy to draw anything out).

Jane, thank you...stay tuned and have a good weekend. Going to be warm and sunny here.

Katherine, I find that I explain too much and perhaps I should stop that and let the viewer make their own decisions about the painting and what it might mean to them - then you get a whole variety of meanings rather than just my one meaning :)

Fascinating! One of my favorite color combinations is yellow-green and blue-green. The alizarin touches are beautiful. Interesting texture too!

I love this painting. I love how loose and expressive it is. The painting is very light and luminous. Simply gorgeous!

Thanks so much, Laura and Irina :)

Shelley, thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment. Your work following the death of your mother and how you are working through that is so powerful and amazing!!

Loads of interest and beautiful colours. I see a torso, Christian cross and children's hands. I an't but think of the phrase 'Suffer little children to come unto me'... Look forward to see where you take it.

We feel so sorry for the peoples of America in the tornado belt - just strong winds lately here were quite disturbing.

Joan, I like your take on this one. Our President is touring Joplin, Missouri today. I hope our government (FEMA) will actually help them and not give them the runaround like they did with people in New Orleans.

Jane, I like your take on this, too. It's interesting to me to hear what others think and see :)
