FOLLOWING THE LEADS

Reading Mike Bailey's recent post yesterday led me to Christopher Schink's webpage, which led me to this pdf file:
http://www.christopherschink.com/Add_weight_to_waterclr.pdf

I downloaded it and printed it out and read it.  I like it.  I think you will, too.  I think you'll also like Mike Bailey's work and his explorations of watercolor.

No painting being done but reading my recent Watercolor Artist magazine (lots of articles about adding texture to your work) and other things that I find from following my favorite blogs :)

No sun yesterday or the day before.
No sun for a while has sapped my creativity.

rats, I can't download that file. Maybe I will remember to try later.
Just wanted you to know I'm still reading. :-)

Goodness if I didn't paint when there was no sun... I would almost never paint! I was able to download that pdf, thanks

Thank you for the link.
Interesting how he puts big shapes, I have to try the method. Mixing media will be future task)

I know what you mean about the weather! I'm on spring break this week, and finally got out of the house without the umbrella today! You need to paint something, now, after reading your magazine!

Mimi, no sun makes me feel closed in and not creative - guess I need the vitamin D :) Glad you could download the link.

Irina, you're welcome.

Katherine, spring break seems to always be doomed with rain. They are saying we will have rain (starting overnight again) for a week! Time to get out the mask, fins and snorkel!!

Thanks for the link , very interesting and inspiring. And I tell you this ( I think I did yesterday , too ), here the sun is shining and the weather is warm and soft, you just want to get out of the house and do gardening or soak up some sun, but watercolor??? No, Mam..waiting for the rain to come :-)

I came across an out-of-print Christopher Schink book (don't see it on his website either) in a house I stayed in as an overnight party guest - its the first time I've been severely tempted to slip something into my suitcase... I didn't, but will look out for it for evermore! full of excellent advice and inspiration.
If its any consolation, we're having the same sort of weather you are :(

Cathy, I wonder if you could email him and ask if he has any copies lying around :) He might! I always think of South Africa as hot, dry, sere, and not much rain. I guess we are all having unusual weather.

Jane, I know some people paint when it's raining and humid - I need to feel upbeat and energized to paint and create and I don't feel that way when it's been raining for weeks.
