BRIGHT AND SUNNY BIRDS

I can't claim to have spent a lot of time yesterday painting but I did get back to the parakeet pair to add a bit more.  Still using only Hansa Yellow Light and Raw Sienna for the yellow; put in Burnt Umber with some green mixed from Cerulean + Hansa Yellow Light for the background.

I slept a lot yesterday, and spent a lot of time watching taped shows.  But the birds are just about ready - have to put more into their eyes (need the centers to be black).

And today I'll run out to LensCrafters and pick up my new glasses (ordered them last week and had to wait since our local LensCrafters isn't a one-hour-turnaround type place).

Hope you have lots of bright spots in your day today.

Rhonda, I hope that you will be feeling better as the day goes by. Your birds are so sweet - beautifully painted- and I like your loose background( always what I find the toughest part of a painting.
Take good care of yourself.

I hope your migraine left you for very long. Birds are very calm and quiet, I hope they transfer you inner peace returned after all the problems.

I saw the color of yellow and immediately thought of yellow chicks....baby chickens, not the candy kind, that is. You should paint some yellow chicks, or maybe I'll give it a whirl as well. It might help me get more in the mood for spring...as if I'm not in the mood for it already. 1-3 inches of that white stuff in the forecast for tomorrow...blech!! You're birds are nice!

Thanks, Christiane, Irina and Gretchen. I'm now going to have to have some cheese with my WHINE: now I'm trying to adjust to the new glasses - which look good on me but are a bit tricksy when it comes to working on the computer. My head is bobbing up and down so much I look like a parakeet!! So if you notice more typos for a while, just consider it my learning curve with stronger bifocals and trying to find that sweet spot in between the regular glasses for near sightedness and bifocals that are at 2.50 now! Sheesh!! If it ain't one thing, it's another! ha ha

Rhonda, we're getting rain here and lots of it. Glad it's not snow. Thanks for the link to the parakeets on my blog. They are really looking good. Hope the migraine is long gone by now. Take care.

Thanks, Ann, Carol, Jane, Caroline and Linda for the positive thoughts :) I'm good now - almost 110% again :) and the birds are done - will post the finish today.

Julie, thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment :) Now I'll have to check if you have a blog and what you are doing!

Julie, now I'm a bit embarrassed to find how prolific you are on the internet with your painting groups and being a member of the Daily Painters (which I understand is an honor to be among this group). I'll definitely be back to take another look at your work :)
