DISTRACTED ABSTRACTS AND OTHER THINGS

For some reason, 2 cups of coffee really got me going - feeling the caffeine buzzing in my veins and unable to sit still or focus.  Did not want to continue with the Yellowstone painting (I knew in that mood, I'd really mess up something badly).

So did a couple of little abstracts after finding starts of them under a pile of stuff on my bookshelf.  (Yes, I had so much caffeine energy, I actually cleaned up my art room a bit.)

I'm calling these Distracted Abstract No. 1

And Distracted Abstract No. 2

And here's a photo of Smudge, enjoying the sunshine...

Your abstracts do look full of adrenalin - little bursts of energy, very productive use of too much coffee!

Thanks, Cathy. I'm starting to wind down now but have that drop in energy that comes from over-caffeinated mornings.

Distracted abstract #1 is my fav. Rainbow colors and free shapes.

Boosting in that cafeine was a good idea, at least looks like it looking at those abstracts. Cleaning? not such a good idea on that one Rhon ;)

I like them Rhonda. Your paintings are full of energy and your kitty is very laid back.

Love the look of your barren beauty post and these abstracts - such rich colours to go with autumn hues. You soon seemed to get over your 'quiet lazy period' and moved on into high energy mode. Look forward to seeing how barren beauty develops.

I wish coffee had that effect on me, but it doesn't. I must be accustomed to it I think and can drink it anytime day or night without a buzz.

These pieces are great. Lots of colour and contrast. Great work.

Like both of these abstracts but especially the first one with its fun colors and design. Smudge looks so contented.

Thanks, everyone, for your comments on this one - seems the first is the favorite :)

Jeanette, I rarely drink caffeine so when I do, I can really feel it - a strong Starbucks will really get me going if I forget to ask for decaf! My sister got off caffeine after years of living on it and had horrible headaches and was so tired she couldn't stay awake any time she sat for a few minutes. Our bodies can be addicted to lots of things that are perfectly legal (like coffee and chocolate, etc.)

I really like both of these abstracts and the second one is my favorite! Of course the kitty adds a special touch. I have a dog who takes care of me when I'm struggling with a painting. :)

Thanks, Nancy. I appreciate you stopping by and commenting. Um...Smudge doesn't take care of me at all - he pretty much knows just to get me to give him food and then leave him alone (although he follows me from room to room, I think it's just to make sure I'm not leaving food out all the time all over the house!).
