I DON'T SPEAK SPANISH

But I wish I did.  Maybe I can still learn?  Why?  Well, then I'd be able to read what this artist is saying about his work.  Take a look at it and be prepared.  THIS is the kind of art that blows my skirt up and makes me want to shout halleleujah!!!  FINE art, a mastery of the watercolor medium.  WOW!

http://antoniosolera.blogspot.com/

He just became a follower of mine (yes, I often check out who is following that isn't already on my sidebar so I find new artists around the world), and I don't know why, but I'm honored that he wants to know what I've been up to.  Again...WOW!

And this artist:  http://oncoy.blogspot.com/ who I found on Antonio's sidebar.  OMG.  And that says it all.

I'm off to find my old Spanish language cds and try again.  This stuff is totally beyond me.  I don't even think I could get there in my lifetime.

Get a cup or glass of your favorite drink, sit back and prepare to be amazed by these two artists.

I love them both! Thanks for the recommendations. I think you can pick up espanol if you're committed to it. I think the easiest way to do it is travel.

Teresa, my friend, you have the job!!! In fact, maybe you could help me with my Spanish when I start it up again?? These two blogs are super and I should be ashamed that I don't speak Spanish (afterall, there are such large populations of Mexicans in each state in the US and we're lazy in American schools, not learning a second language).

Rachel, I don't think I'll be travelling but one never knows. I hate travel - once I get somewhere I enjoy myself and love to see new things but airline travel for me is nothing but a stress-filled, hassle-laden time :(

thanks for sharing those two links. Their work is amazing.

I agree that we should be able to speak Spanish (or another language!)

My grandparents on both sides spoke at least two and up to four languages!

Thanks for the introduction to these 2 artists - they are great! If you have the Google toolbar, you can click translate and it will be in English!

There is a simpler solution! Highlight any spanish text on the website, richt click and there should be a drop down menu appear. towards the bottom is a "Translate this" option.

Voila! Instant Spanish.

Cheers,

Cindy

Deb, Carol, Barb, Cindy, Asit, I'm glad you all enjoy these 2 artists as much as I do - and don't feel as hopeless! ha ha Antonio's style is so beautiful and light - oh, if I could paint this way!! Many of you can paint with this light, open touch...but I think it may be personality as much as training?

Cindy, thanks for that tip - it worked perfectly. Highlight, right click, and translate and you get two views - the Spanish on the left and the English on the right - so cool!!!

Rhonda, thank you for your comment, I was here an hour ago, wanted to say to this post, was not sure my comment would be OK for the intro. But I try now.
Few days ago Noemi (I will give the link later) posted the video of Alvaro Castagnet at work (www.alvarocastagnet.net).
I am very "in study" person, but that time it was different. I forgot watercolor, looked at that man as if I was paralyzed and wanted to learn Spanish right now.
The great power of art... :))))
I am glad to meet you!

Irinia, I am very pleased to meet you and learn more about your work. Alvaro is also a fantastic artist - perhaps the supposedly hot blood of the Latin comes out in the paintings? ha ha Just kidding! I know we all can achieve greatness - it's just going to take time.

Lisa, your Spanish may be worse than mine! ha ha

Pablo, I think I saw your blog on Antonio's sidebar so I'd say he's an admirer of your's, too - as am I :)
