WHITE IRIS - STEP TWO

Here is the next stage of the white iris painting - on hotpress 140# Fabriano. The trick is to just do a bit at a time to shape the petals...not too much and not too dark...just a tint of color. So far, so good. I need to push that bulb into the stems (right now it looks like it's outside it).
Have a great weekend!

Oh Rhonda, I've been reading your blogs, but have been remiss in posting comments. I find sometimes it's hard for a wordpress person to post to a blogspot blog. I type and type and type and then I get an error message and grrrrrrrr. I give up.

Anyway, I wanted to say I really like your Iris so far and can't wait to see it finished. Whites are always interesting to achieve.

I know what you mean, Carol - when I have to go through hoops to post a comment, I just exit the site - it's too bad Wordpress and Blogger don't see eye to eye at times.
Thanks, Christiane!
Elizabeth, it's nice to hear from you - have to catch up on your blog soon!
Thanks, Vicki. I'm hoping I won't overdo it in the final stages :)

This is really gorgeous. The background's just the most beautiful, warm colors, and the leaves are great--such a rich bright green. The little purple bud really makes me jealous!!

Thanks, Laura! Now you know how I feel when viewing your work - I'm always happy to view it but also a bit jealous that I can't paint that way! ha ha
