LILY POND

I finished the small lily pond painting. It's about 7" x 8" - very small to fit a square mat. I've started another, a bit larger so the only pad is a big larger in the picture plane.
And I've begun my Gulf of Mexico watercolor painting (22" x 30") for the Spirit of the Gulf Challenge from Suzanne (see my sidebar icon, click on it to go to Suzanne's site for information about joining in).

Hi Rhonda, the darks and lights are a nice contrast. I have been thinking a lot about that lately that and lost and found edges.

I really like the composition in your painting Rhonda. What's next?

This is clever - quite simple, but I can immediately 'read' it as growing through the water. You have a sure touch. x

I really like the blue sky reflecting on the lily pad.

Cathy, Ann, Gillian and Vicki, I can't take much credit for the composition although I just left out some things in an already great photo from Doris :) Thanks for the comments but it's not quite what I wanted so will do it again. I'm looking at the ones Carol Carter does and may try something like that with this photo.

I love the lily pad amongst all the vertical shapes.

Thank you, Carol. I have another one drawn and will get to that after the Louisiana Shoreline painting is finished. I think I can do a better job on the colors, crispness, etc.
