DOES THE TITLE MAKE SENSE NOW?

Four and Twenty =
Four Blackbirds (I wasn't going to paint 20 of the things!!) +
Twenty Blocks of Color

Why the figure? I guess maybe she's me - looking out from the other side of the painting!

I think it will make more sense when you see the next stage when I tweak some beaks and blocks (there aren't 20 showing yet but there will be), now that the miskit is off.

Ah, yes, the title makes more sense now:-)This is truly an original product of your imagination! It's a nice concept to have you as a viewer within a painting being viewed by others!

this is really coming along and the steps are pretty neat. I like the black birds concept a lot. and I don't blame you for not wanting to paint 10! Have you ever considered weaving the actual nursery rhyme in there?

And here I was counting and counting and trying to find the missing squares lol, you've made me really curious about your next steps on this one Rhonda

Love this, Rhonda! The background colors and blackbird squares are gorgeous and really move the eye around. An interesting peek into the imagination of an artist!

Only four blackbirds + twenty boxes...wait and see!
Christiane, I guess that's me - I really like that hat, may have to get one like it :)
Elizabeth, thanks...didn't think of weaving words as I'm usually not that good at that...will give it some thought, though.
Teresa, curiosity killed the cat but it's a definite must for an artist!
Lisa, thanks, I'm glad the eye is moving around the way I'd hoped it would.
More to do today if I can.
