LEMONS AND SHADOWS - STAGE 2

I worked on this a bit more,
a little at a time,
slowly building up the darks.

I've just started on the table and bowl.

This isn't my usual way to work, but I wanted to make sure I could get the darks deep enough and with enough warms vs cools in the shadows before starting on the table, bowl and fruit.
Again, I'm using just these colors:
French Ultramarine, Perylene Maroon, a touch of Quinacridone Burnt Orange, a touch of Cerulean Blue, Quinacridone Gold (on the stairs and table), Raw Sienna (on the bowl).
I hope you are enjoying the progression of this one.

Thanks, Vicki, Susan and Norena, for your comments on this progression. Soon...maybe today or tomorrow...I'll have it finished and I need to finish the fluid acrylics I began in Deb's workshop, too. There are just so many things to paint in this world and so little time! ha ha

Rhonda, I am enjoying the progression tremendously. I love to see how you work. At this point, the stairs are stunning! I am glad that it is the weekend and will be around to see your next post.

Thanks, Christiane :) I have two styles of working, I guess, and sometimes enjoy doing it this way - layer by layer. But sometimes I just like to go in really wet and get things in quickly. So I guess I'm a split personality when it comes to painting! I've just begun on the bowl and lemons - wish me luck!

I'm jealous - you have time to paint - now if I wasn't on the computer guess I would too! Seriously, looking good!

Yup, a yummie!

Don't be jealous, Deb. I don't think green is very becoming! ha ha
I've been on the computer a lot today - but this is just in dribs and drabs so lots of time to walk away and do something else. More to post soon.
Pam, does it make you want lemon meringue pie?!? :)
