THEIR COMMITMENT TO BLACK + 1

I finished Their Commitment to Black and began two more (of course, I am crow-crazy!!).
I cropped this one in a bit so that post wasn't just hanging in the air. Touched some colors into the black and left some lights. Done.

And for my next trick....

I took some white gesso and painted a crow on white paper with it and waited for it to dry. Can you see it? You will...

And the other crow painting is actually a Paper Painting, done like Elizabeth St. Hilaire Nelson does her paper paintings. I finally got myself in gear and started one. I've been thinking about it for a while - ever since I received her DVD showing her technique - just didn't get started until today. How hard was that? Just starting was the hardest thing and it's flowing well so I'm pleased.
Won't share it yet...have to give you something to look forward to...

OR are you SICK TO DEATH of crows??

How can I be sick to death of crows when you produce such original and fresh new paintings of them all the time? I could never be so focussed!

I love your crows- keep them coming, please.
I am looking forward to seeing your new experiments with the gesso and the paper painting. Those crows are really a source of great inspiration for you. I really admire your creativity.

I love your Crow paintings, Rhonda! This one is my favourite - it's awesome! Everything about it works. Can't wait to see the others ..... especially that white gesso crow.

Not sick to death, just trying to be patient to see the results of your imaginative series! I applaud your dedication to the series and your continued great ideas.

I'm so glad you're not sick of crows, because more will be flying around in the future :) I think I must research what crows "mean" as far as myth, truth, legend, etc. because they definitely are cawing to me :) I so appreciate your comments, Gillian, Christiane, Deb W. and Deb. L. and Susan - your support means the world to me now that I'm not taking lessons or in classes for anything - it helps to have a home base of artists right here in my computer whenever I need them!
Now don't be saying that "S" word, girls, or you might scare the crows away! ha ha

Your crows are wonderful; don't stop.

I love the way you've kept the background vibrant, but it doesn't overpower the crows. Very skillfully done.

I can't wait to see the white on white crow develop!

Thanks so much, Elizabeth. Of course, the while will be all gone - or mostly gone - when I do that one - but you'll see.

Rhonda, sometimes you just have to FORCE yourself to get started, then once you get "into the groove" the creativity flows and you wonder why you put it off for so long. I look forward to seeing what you come up with. I have been wanting to try a crow myself, so I'm curious now.... :)

Elizabeth, it was funny how much I resisted this only to find it was fun and calming when I actually did it! haha Sometimes I'm not sure what holds me back. If you look at today's (Friday) post, you'll see that I have given you a Sunshine Award :)
