CROW 2 CROW - IN PROGRESS

I started this one when I started the other crow painting and then it got set aside for a while.

I'm back to working on it and this is where it stands today. And, no, I'm not sure why the geometric shapes are becoming a part of the paintings of crows. Maybe crows really like geometric shapes?
The masking tape is still on at the top horizontally and the angle down through the top crow.
I think, before I finish this one, I'll start another...crows crows and more crows!!! I guess you could call this a (gulp!) series??!!???
Happy last day of January - I, for one, am glad January is almost over.

Rhonda,

"A Crow For All Seasons"
This one looks like there perched on the branches looking about on the seasons? different colors suggesting different seasons.

"A Season To Crow About"
"What Are You Crowing About?"
"The Family Corvus Brachyrhynchos Will Not Stop Crowing"
"The Family That Crows Together, Crows Together"

Well enough of that I'm liking this series?? No need to gulp every painting artist work on is a series of events following each other all artist work in series only when the artist dies does the series of art stop.

Rhonda,
I like the title - A Crow For All Seasons".
January brought about a new tangent to your art. Where will February take it?
For someone who does not like crows, I am surprised to see how much I am enjoying your "series". This latest painting is coming along very well. It will be very interesting.

Have a great February!

Hi Rhonda!
Really like your birds. A gorgeous picture, this one. It almost feels Japanese to me, with the soft colors. The red and blue goes really well together.

Look forward to seeing more!

Smiles, Kris

Thanks, Paul and Christiane :) Looks like I might have to have that title, Paul - not sure yet...we'll see where the crows go from here :) The series stops when the artist dies - fair enough.
Today is a lazy day doing a lot of nothing...Sunday seems like a waiting day...waiting for something else instead of enjoying what it can be. Maybe time for something sweet...

No "gulping" allowed - series(es!) are a great way of gaining insight into your painting - learning to feel confident about a subject before moving onto another. I'm liking the geometric designs of these, and the titles suggested are great fun, too!

Thanks so much, Kris and Deb :) Deb, I know there is nothing to fear about series work and all it can do for you - it's just a silly impatience that I know my boredom level is pretty low and I move on quickly. I think these crows may be around for a while. And now I seem to hear them somewhere every day.
Check out Jeannette's blog at Illustratedlife (on my sidebar) to learn more about how smart these birds are!

I love the colours appearing in this so far. I think series just happen without thinking usually. If the crows make it happen even better!

I understand about attention span, I think most artists have challenges there and sometimes boredom sets in if there isn't enough variety or the ideas within the series don't flow quickly enough.

Keep going...

And thanks, Bill - now I have to come over and see what you've been up to lately!

You're getting wilder all the time, I like that. The bottom crow in this one is ridiculously cool...if you touch that, you're nuts!

Thanks, Nick - glad you like this one so far - I haven't touched the bottom crow other than to take off the masking tape to the top and shape his bill around that a bit more. Hope it's still cool :)
