HEART JOURNAL PAGES 1, 2

I decided to take the Khadi paper book sent to me by my friend, Susan, and use it for my Heart Journal. Will put artwork and words and other things in it.

So far, I've worked on 3 pages but they may change a lot with more words, scraps of paper, heart cutouts, etc...this will be very experimental and more as a way to get through my issues/feelings/etc.
The paper doesn't take much reworking so you have to put the color down and let it dry and then go back and darken later. I have glued things in there, too - previous paintings that will change once I get words and other embellishments around it.

I think this book will be a treasure Rhonda, and I hope a healing, restorative process. It's a gift for us all for you to express life's hard experiences in these creative ways!

I think this is the perfect use of the very special book.

Thanks, Cindi, Cathy, and Vicki. I have ideas about this and keep reading to educate myself on what I can do instead of just taking prescription meds - which, BTW, now have my BP low all the time and it never goes high so I guess that's a good thing, although I think my lack of enthusiasm about anything right now is also a side effect of that low BP. We'll see. I don't know why I need to educate my cardiologist so much! ha ha

I love the hearts! I did an anatomical heart years ago (of collage and paint). Now I want to go dig it out and revisit the piece. There is something so compelling about the heart and I think you are smart to restore yourself in this manner. Cause art does heal.
And, oh yeah, dorks unite :-)

I'd love to see your take on the heart, MB :) If you can dig it out, share it with us on your blog. I worked on another page today, incorporating words and facts about women's heart issues, etc. from a book I'm reading (trying to educate myself about this and what I need to get well - or at least not worse right away).
The wind is blowing something around...an idea, a concept, a restlessness...something...

Love your heart book! I had open heart surgery to repair a flapping valve 6 years ago. I was a palpitating fool, so to speak, prior to surgery. I remember having to wear the monitor and of course, it never recorded anything. My cardiologist pushed for me to go to the Cleveland Clinic and for Dr. Cosgrove to do the surgery. I now have a 'Cosgrove Ring" with a warranty card to boot! One must keep a sense of humor for medical issues :)

My all your doctors be guided with wisdom from above and may healing light surround you and keep you well!

If you want to talk more pls email me at pjbartstudio-at-hargray-dot-com.

I'm such a coward, Pam, I can't stand to think of surgery...so wimpy! But you do what you have to do and I've heard that the Cleveland Clinic is the best - that's where Robin Williams ended up. I know it's not the end of the world but it does get frustrating with the meds, etc. I will definitely email you and chat and learn more :) So glad you are doing well 6 years later - with a warranty!!

I've been away for two weeks and look what's happened! It's like a new person blogging. I LOVE your collages and the King of Hearts is FANTASTIC. This heart journal is gorgeous. I missed whatever event, if there was a particular one, that set you up with your attached KOH. Hope you're ok. Lots of Love.

Thanks, Suzanne, just having some heart issues (valves leaking). I'm working through it, reading, asking questions, trying out meds, etc, hoping surgery is not in my near future.
