RUTS

Okay, I admit it. I seem to be unable to get back to painting. Maybe tired. Maybe the extra meds the new cardiologist has me on - that makes me feel like it must surely be bedtime by...what?!?...it's only 6:30???

I intend to do something but instead I pick up my pencil and sketchbook and...put it back down.

Visiting my new cardiologist is like being in an episode of House - that test showed up nothing, well, let's have her do this one and take some more blood just for good measure. Check her cholesterol. Not high? Hmmm...well, do a complete blood workup, there must be something I can find here. No? Everything normal? Well, her ankles swell. Let's check her kidneys. Give her an IV of iodine and run her through a CT scan, oh, and in the meantime, take some more blood. (As you read this, I will be in said CT scanner having this delightful procedure done.)

I swear, this is not going to last long because soon I am going to be without a cardiologist again.

The only creative thing I've done is play with my Tombow pen (it's not waterproof so you get some bleeding to a nice blue-grey that works but I need to learn more how to use it and not just cover everything and lose my whites - what is it with me and whites?).

So sorry been a while commenting but had an extremely busy May and hardly visited the blog world. Went down through missed posts and SIMPLY LOVE THE HOUSE COLOURS - they look wonderful completely transforming the appearance of your lovely house. Sorry about the heart business - know what its like because last year it took 9 months tests etc to finally give me the right medication for what turned out to be simply very high blood pressure... so much so that I had passed out!! but I was glad they were so thorough checking just about everything with visits back and forth to the hospital and village doctors. Hope they get you sorted soon and you are back with your delightful artwork to cheer us all. Take good care of yourself and if you have to relax without pen or pencil, then do what your body is telling you my girl. !!!

Sometimes simply taking a break can be just what the doctor ordered...instead of all the tests! My heart goes out to you...I have been there too...Hope you are feeling "chipper" really soon! :)

When you get a chance please send me your land addy via email... I have a little something for you! :)

Well, and if you weren't tired enough before, a day of medical testing should take care of that!! ;-D Going to the doctor is always a two-edged sword in my experience - hang in there.

I'm thinking your heart's a lot bigger than drawn here, even if the drawing is pretty cool. Hope you're back in the swing of things VERY SOON! Miss you a bunch.

Thanks so much, Joan, Margaret Ann, Chris, and Sandy, for your comments and support as I go through this aging process. I have a new sympathy for those patients in the hospital with IVs in their hands - that procedure HURTS! I actually did some sketching today! YAY!

Whew you're having a rough time, Rhonda - I've known that tired all the time syndrome. Hope 'Dr House' finds what the problem is soon and that its easily fixed. As Joan says, do what your body tells you - playing with pens sounds like good therapy though!

Meera, hello and thanks for stopping by. I think your blog is beautiful and will be returning again to see what you have painted or drawn.

Rhonda, I have the same problems with whites ... and with doctors!
It's hard to get in the right frame of mind to paint when you're experiencing such frustration! Working with the Tombow pen seems to me a great intermediate!

Laura, you don't seem to have problems leaving whites at all in your paintings. As for doctors, well, I think we all have problems with them!

Rhonda, I've been in that rut for a long time now. And I've had that "tired all the time" syndrome for a long time too. I used to paint every day, and now barely once a week. And the tests - been there, done that - doing it again. This week I've had an echocardiogram, sonogram on carotid arteries, and a stress test. Passed them all. Last year I did the MRI on my kidneys. I personally think my bp meds are causing it all. If they mention beta blockers, run the other way. Hang in there.

Michelle, good for you coming up with positive results on all those tests - sorry to hear about the tiredness and I know what you mean. I have that and then some and I KNOW it's the beta blocker she has me on - 50 mg a day - that zombifies you. I'm weaning off of it myself and she won't like it, but it's my life.
