Revised a bit with some darks and softer lights.
And next stage of the Apple Baskets - I don't know, it may be time to declare defeat on this one and forget about it. There are just some things I cannot paint no matter how many times I try and maybe it's like the Bengals this season and winning :( just can't do it!

The hot pepper is absolutely exquisite!
I also like the basket and the background - and I see you are struggling with the apples. When I reach this kind of dead-end, I usually go for line and texture, but that's my personal style.

Nava, thanks for your comments. I am struggling with the apples - can't seem to get my mind around them and get past the ugly stage! Maybe some pen and ink would save this one.
