Fem

The second painting on Yupo started in class Tuesday. I'm not going to make her a mermaid - just a female figure (which means I need to take away that curve of her legs at the left side - doesn't look right). Skin tones in her body and feminine pastel colors around her - that's what I'm thinking.
We'll see what happens.

This is looking very nice already and I think that even Sandy would be proud of you for leaving those whites!

Love those shapes behind her, Rhonda! How do you come up with shapes like that? This is going to be another great one! No mermaid? (I thought maybe a mermaid series was coming. lol) Can't wait to see the next steps ......

Really nice division of space surrounding the figure. This should be a great painting!

Thanks so much for your comments on this one, Susan, Deb, Myrna and Dawn.
Deb, I looked a little snippet from Carla O'Connor's DVD (I am going to order it) and saw how she connects lines and breaks up spaces and just took off from there - it's fun and easy! I think I actually see this way - who knew? Sandy always said I have a strong design orientation in my work but I never had it come so easily before. It's fun!
