An Award from Nava: Arte y Pico

Nava Attia-Benoit has awarded me the Arte y Pico award.
Arte y Pico is a blog from Uruguay created by Ana, who also created this wonderful award. It features this elegant angel with a beautiful dress that matches her silvery-grey wings. She is delicately balanced on this golden arch/spray.

So what does Art y Pico mean? I'll take my definition from Nava, who contacted Ana, the award originator: "Basically, ironically, it translates into a wonderful phrase in Mexico, 'lo maximo'. It will never find its counterpart in English, but if it HAD to, it would be something like, Wow. The Best Art. Over the top."

Thank you so much, Nava, for this recognition! Go to Nava's blog here:

Now, the rules:

Pick 5 blogs you think are deserving of this award for their creativity, design, interesting material, and also for contributing to the blogging community, no matter what language.
Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his or her blog to be visited by everyone.
Each award winner has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that has given her or him the award itself.
Award-winner and the one who has given the prize have to show the link of “Arte y Pico” blog, so everyone will know the origin of this award which is here:
Arte y Pico.

So...I will have to put my thinking cap on for the 5 blogs because Nava has chosen some of my favorites which definitely fit the bill - so I will have to find 5 more! What fun!

Check back later for my fave 5's who will receive the Arte y Pico award.

I almost felt guilty by awarding Sandy Maudlin, as I knew you'd want to select her. But hey, tough luck! ;-)

Nava, you're so funny!!! You're right - the early bird...and all that!
David, I've been watching your blog for a while and "knew" your work from WetCanvas, also, so it was easy to choose your work as one who goes Above and Beyond. Wishing you much much success - you should be winning awards in shows instead but you'll have to settle for this little token to get you started :)

Wow thank you Rhonda! I will gladly accept this award, and am humbled by the company I am surrounded by.

I will display it proudly!

Rhonda,

I've thanked you "off-blog" for this award, but after viewing my fellow recipients' blogs I must say I am even more honored to have been included in this fine list. This Arte Y Pico award concept will introduce us all to many other artists, worldwide, for which I am grateful, although humbled!

You're very welcome, Carol :) Yes, you are supposed to post it along with a link to my blog and to the Arte y Pico blog so people know where it came from. I love the statuette - she's so elegant.
Ah, enjoy your travels. I will see you in 4 weeks in Indiana!
