Nicholas Simmons DVD from Creative Catalyst

Saturday's mail brought me this DVD from Nicholas Simmons! I just ordered it a week ago = fast service!

You know what I'm going to be doing today. This is a 2-hour dvd of Nick's outrageous (in a good way) painting style accompanied by his own background music so I know it's going to be a treat. So, pen and notebook in hand, I'll be sitting watching this after errands this morning. I have a feeling this will be just the thing I need to kick-start me up again after a bit of a slump for a couple of days.

I'll come back and let you know more about it after I've watched it a couple of times :)
For those of you who haven't yet heard of Nick (but you will!), visit his blog at http://nicholassimmons.blogspot.com/ and check out what he's up to these days besides winning top awards and having workshops all over the country and going on cruises and...well, go on and take a look!

Rhonda, having just read your last few posts I am beginning to think we share some common bonds - although I cannot draw! But - mocha Moolatte, Starbucks - yum! And, I just received my Nick Simmons video on Friday! I didn't get to his workshop but heard so much about it that I was inspired to purchase - and the fact that they were knocking $5 off the price didn't hurt. I'll be looking forward to finding time to sit down and watch it soon.
Also, thanks again for your hard work as GCWS Recording Secretary!

Now what could be better, Deb, than sipping a Starbucks frappachino on a hot day and watching Nick pour that paint around :) I'm over 1/2 way through the DVD and taking a short break so my mind stays fresh. Good stuff. I will have to get some fluid acrylics and hotpress paper.

I have about 1/3 more to watch and will do that today, Dawn. It is a very good DVD - lots of information, great detail and camera work to get in there to see what he's doing, and good commentary. He really seems like a natural in front of the camera, too, which is a plus.
