Cordyline Collage

Remember the really bad painting I did and then washed it all down to just a ghost image? Well, I've decided what the heck, I'm going to collage bits on it and see if it comes together any better.

This is what I have so far. I have more to do - have to repeat that dark red wrap paper in a couple other places and maybe some whites here and there with rice paper. I pulled out plenty of little bits and pieces and odds and ends for this one.

What do you think? Keep going or don't waste your time on this one?

Do keep going, this is very interesting so far and with the addition of more "bits" should be a good one. I keep thinking I will try collage but haven't done it yet. Guess I have to get more of the Alaska thing out of my blood first, gotta do more of those!

DEFINITELY KEEP GOING. Really amazing what we can do to retrieve not only a piece but move on into higher realms of creation. Look forward to seeing when you feel you have finished... hardest decision sometimes!

Good, I'm glad you both suggested I keep working on this. I have so many pieces I've saved just for collaging and for some reason I've done well with collage - it takes me a few days of working, setting it aside, working, before I get something I think is "done." I'll definitely share the next step - sometimes I just feel more like gluing than painting :)

Keep going, Rhonda. This plant makes a great subject for collage - simple but interesting shapes and interesting texture.

Thanks, Michelle and Sandy. I'll keep at it and see how it turns out :)
