I traced the small 4 x 6 photo of the spoons, then enlarged that and printed it out and worked to get the shapes right, using a larger photo. And then traced the larger sketch onto the watercolor paper. So all ready for a larger (1/4 sheet) painting. Here's just a few of the works I've done to get ready...some good, some not so good:
